What the Causelist is
The Causelist (causelist.advocatevinaykadam.com) is the private case diary of the office of Advocate Vinay Bhausaheb Kadam, Kolhapur. It lists the office's cases and their hearing dates. It is not offered to the public: only the office's own devices can sign in, and only the Google account advocatevinay30@gmail.com can be connected to it.
Google account data it uses
When that account is connected, the Causelist asks Google for the following, and uses each only as described:
- Email address (sign-in): to check that the account being connected is the office's own. Any other account is refused.
- Google Drive, read only: to read the case-list export files the office keeps in its "Data" folder. It does not change, share or delete anything in Drive.
- Gmail: to find the cause-list mail sent to the office by its registry service, read the text file attached to it, and label that mail in Gmail (a mail that only pretends to come from that sender is labelled so it can be checked). It does not send, delete or forward mail, and does not read other mail.
- Google Tasks: to add, update and remove the office's own hearing reminders.
Where it is kept
The case lists built from these files, and the key Google gives the Causelist to keep its access, are stored in the Causelist's own database on Cloudflare, and on the office's signed-in devices. The export files and mails themselves are passed through when a list is refreshed and are not stored. Earlier copies of the case lists are kept for 30 days so a mistake can be undone, and then deleted.
Who sees it
No one outside the office. The data is not sold, not shared, not used for advertising, and not used to train any artificial-intelligence model. No analytics or tracking is used.
The Causelist's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Removing access
Access can be withdrawn at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. The Causelist then stops reading Drive, Gmail and Tasks. To have the stored case lists deleted, write to the address below.
